President

Lauren F Cierpial, PhD is co-founder and President of IMPACT. Dr. Cierpial has been an independent medical writer specializing in regulatory submissions for over 12 years. She has authored Clinical Overviews, Clinical Summaries, ISEs/ISSs, INDs, Annual Reports, Briefing Documents, IBs and IB updates, CSRs, ACSRs, Synopses, Protocols, Statistical Analysis Plans, and Narratives.  She has also prepared White Papers, Clinical Development Plans, CRFs, journal articles, meeting abstracts, and poster presentations. This work has encompassed a broad-range of therapeutic areas including oncology, psychiatry, neurology, infectious diseases, respiratory, gastrointestinal, metabolic disorders, cardiopulmonary disorders, and pharmacogenetics.

Prior to her work as an independent medical writer, Dr. Cierpial was a Clinical Research Scientist at GlaxoWellcome. In this capacity, she served as International Study Leader for a pivotal Phase 3 study in epilepsy.  Dr. Cierpial completed a year of her post-doctoral training in the neuropsychology department at Duke University. During this time, she was granted full support for her research through an independently submitted NIH grant. She holds a BA in Biology and in Psychology from Vanderbilt University and a PhD in Physiological and Biological Psychology from the University of Virginia.  Her PhD studies focused on quantitative, developmental neuroanatomy.
