IMPACT Pharmaceutical Services, Inc. Celebrates 2 Year Anniversary

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC: 15 August 2011 – Impact Pharmaceutical Services, Inc. (IMPACT), a pharmaceutical research and consulting firm located in Research Triangle Park, NC, announced the celebration of their two year anniversary.

Established in May 2009, IMPACT is a privately held pharmaceutical contract research organization (CRO) and consulting company that provides both operational and strategic services to the pharmaceutical and biotech industries.  As part of this anniversary, IMPACT celebrates the addition of several new staff members in 2011:  Ann Brown, BS, Senior Document Services Manager; Jason Horn, BS, RAC, Senior Project Manager; Elaina Howard, PhD, Clinical Research Scientist; and Barbara McNulty, BSMT, MPH, Senior Director of Clinical Sciences.

“The expansion of our staff is a testament to IMPACT’s continued success,” said Tim Garver, PhD, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.  “These appointments help ensure our future success and strengthen IMPACT’s ability to provide a wide range of services to our diverse roster clients.”

Ms. Brown joins IMPACT with an exceptional background in document services with over 20 years of document service and publishing experience.  Ann has developed templates and style guides for both CROs and pharmaceutical firms.  Her publishing experience includes INDs, NDAs, IBs, annual reports, safety reports, and advertising and promotional labeling.  Ms. Brown is very well recognized in the local RTP eCTD publishing community as the co‑founder and co‑leader of the Electronic Concepts Technical Discussion (ECTD) Group – a professional organization created in 2009 with a current membership of 70 members.

Mr. Horn joins IMPACT with over 11 years of project management and coordination experience across a broad range of therapeutic areas including cardiovascular, central nervous system, infectious disease, pulmonary, and oncology.  He has managed a number of regulatory submissions (INDs, NDAs/BLAs), and has extensive coordination experience with IND and NDA amendments, and NDA supplements.  Mr. Horn has managed and coordinated pre-and post-activities for FDA, EMA, and Health Canada Agency meetings.

Dr. Howard joins IMPACT as a Clinical Research Scientist following the receipt of her doctorate degree in Neuroscience from the University of Texas at Austin and the completion of postdoctoral training at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC-CH) in electrophysiology.  While at UNC-CH, Dr. Howard established the electrophysiology division of the laboratory and served as the lead investigator, studying the effects of prenatal cocaine and autism on reward functioning.  Dr. Howard also served on the national membership committee for the Research Society on Alcoholism.

Ms. McNulty joins IMPACT as Senior Director, Clinical Sciences with over 25 years of clinical research experience.  Ms. McNulty has been involved in 15 NDAs, and has extensive data interpretation and team management experience.  A full summary of Ms. McNulty extensive clinical research experience and background was provided in a previous press related dated 20 June 2011.
